We are looking forward to reconnecting with everyone as we head into the 2026-2027 season of the Michigan Catalysis Society! While some details of the program are still being finalized, we wanted to share an overview of the upcoming year and several planned changes.

In an effort to improve engagement, provide more opportunities for informal discussion with speakers, and make events more worthwhile for members who travel significant distances to attend MCS meetings, we are moving away from the previous model of 4-6 evening dinner seminars spread throughout the year. Instead, we will be piloting a more condensed schedule featuring two extended research forums and our annual symposium. While the research forums will begin earlier in the afternoon, the overall number of events and scheduling commitments will be reduced.

Fall Research Forum: October 22, 2026 from 3 - 8 pm in Ann Arbor, MI

It is our pleasure to formally announce the Michigan Catalysis Society Fall Research Forum, which will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 3:00–8:00 PM in Ann Arbor.   The event will be held at the Michigan League, Michigan Room (2nd Floor), 911 N University Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48109

The Fall Research Forum will feature two invited lectures, two student presentations, and an extended opportunity for dinner and informal discussion. We hope that the expanded Research Forum format will provide a valuable opportunity to hear excellent catalysis research while allowing more time for discussion and interaction across the Michigan catalysis community.

Parking is available at the Maynard Structure (324 Maynard St, Ann Arbor, MI 48104).  It is a short 6 minute walk from the venue. The hourly rate is $1.80/hour.

Spring Research Forum: Date to be announced, the week of March 15th.  

Annual MCS Symposium: May 14, 2027 in Midland, MI.

Our annual day-long research symposium featuring an invited speaker, the Parravano Award lecture, student presentations, and posters will be held in the spring.

$25 for non-students

$10 for students

Membership dues can be paid at the first meeting you attend in a given academic year.
